REVIVING AND EXPANDING A CHILDREN'S COMMUNITY GARDEN
As part of a study abroad trip with the University of Illinois' College of Education to Namibia I helped plan, we emphasized a service learning approach that required leaving a "footprint" on the space. As my part of the project I worked with Physically Active Youth in Katatura, Namibia, With the 5th to 7th grade girls, we revived the community garden by repairing and cleaning up the space, and expanding the plantable space.
